Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific extension is very popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for constructing creative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to give it with associates and fellows. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the technology sector given that IT is an abbreviation, which is known worldwide.

Since dot IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that administrates this TLD, such a domain can be secured through a third-party domain service provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can register a .IT domain for one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it the minute the transfer has been finalized. The sole prerequisite is that the person registering such a domain is required to be located in a member state of the European Union.

Because there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different areas and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any kind are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, given that they can be registered only by locals.
